Plastic Business Cards?

I’m seeing more and more of a trend of businesses moving to special plastic business cards. They look and function just like a normal card, but are printed on a clear or often frosted piece of plastic, similar to those found as ID badges today.

The object of the plastic card? Well, besides being cooler than those made of paper, is it also less likely to be thrown away?  Many think it’s worth the investment. The non-disposable business cards, can easily double as a bookmark in your favorite novel, or perhaps a coaster?

I love the idea and the cards are definitely cool, check out these samples. The hand behind the card is holding it.

You’ll notice that the last one, though plastic, is not clear or translucent. Does that defeat the purpose of a plastic card? What’s your favorite?

I like plastic business cards, they are very durable. I have a booklet that I keep business cards in and you can pull them in and out much easier than the standard paper ones. I think it is a great investment.

I personally love the plastic cards. It is a great investment, every time we would show someone the option of the plastic business card, they loved it, and you can see in their eyes that they want to drool… But most back away from it, because of how much it cost. The ones that we had available, you could only use foil to print on them. But for a set of 1000 business cards I believe we sold them for about $200-250. Not very many people bought them. But I do believe that they are well worth the investment just because people like to hold on to them. In reference to your question, I honestly think that as long as something is plastic, people tend to hold on to it. It is quite like our generation… no one wants to deal with paper (cash or coins). So they always have their plastic (credit/debit cards).

I like the thought behind it, but if you’re holding the card by the sides dos it defeat the purpose? Not a fan of the Aaronson card because you can’t read part of it because of the darkness between the fingers match the darkness on the card. It should’t be hard to read. I do like the “frosted” cards with clear sides though. It’s more “cutting edge” than the paper cards.

The black is used in our proof image to show it in the worst possible circumstances, normally customers will be holding the card over a lighter surface. We professionally print these cards and have many more samples available on our website where these samples were \"borrowed\" from. http://www.clearplasticcards.com

These cards are also waterproof, tearproof, and because of their unique size and shape they really stand out over your conventional 3.5 x 2\" paper business card.
